Express yourself and be your own YOU with Jewel Kade!

The "Bee" charm is a top seller, and for good reason!  First of all, who can resist the "queen bee" and all that implies on the front?  Janet Kinkade, the designer, is very eloquent at pairing whimsical notions with quippy phrases on the back.  Irresistable, I tell you!!!  But what I love most about Jewel Kade is the fact that how you can mix and match the different charms and necklaces to make your own unique combination.  Add a small pewter charm or birthstone, and suddenly you've created something that fits you perfectly (and is adorable!).  So go ahead, "Bee" Yourself.  And while you're at it, express yourself with some Jewel Kade!!

P.S. Don't forget to be among the first 500 to follow @jkruby and retweet my status to be entered to win a limited-edition Jewel Kade Mother's Day charm!

Simple "Sparrows" from Jewel Kade

Introducing one of my favorite pieces from Jewel Kade:  the antique sparrow necklaces!  They are darling worn by themselves, or add a fun layer when paired with any other Jewel Kade necklace and charm.  The pendant features a sparrow and olive branch, a sophisticated touch of class!

The Jewel Kade Catalog has something for everyone!!!

When I think of Jewel Kade, usually hand-crafted charms and luxurious pearls come to mind first.  If those don't make your skirt fly up, just keep turning the pages in the catalog, because trust me, something will!  Actually, when I first laid eyes on JK, I was attracted to the "magnolia metals."  These are individually hand-stamped mini charms that can be paired up with just about anything!  Birthstones, pearls, drops, pewter charms such as pineapples, owls, hearts, keys, just to name a few....I wanted a "mommy" necklace to celebrate my children (and to remind myself that yes, they are a blessing!).  I told my husband what I wanted, which was 5 stamped circles with each of their initials on it, with their birthstones.  To my utter amazement, he replied "Why don't you just sign up yourself?"  I couldn't sleep for days.  But he was right--I hadn't been that excited about something in a really long time, and now I'm on the journey of a lifetime!

Pick your favorite and let me know what speaks to you!  (remember, each comment adds $1 to my weekly giveaway pot!) Why do you love Jewel Kade??

Jewel Kade Jewelry, Chains, and Charms, OH MY!!

I must admit, before my Jewel Kade days, I was a minimalist (at most!) when it came to wearing jewelry.  But there's something different and unique about each of the pieces designed by Janet Kinkade, they instantly won me over and now I feel naked without them!  Picking the jewelry pieces that speak to you is part of the joy--each one is hand-made and truly one of a kind, and many of them contain little quotes and quips that describe you or the ones you love.  Find which one speaks to you and let me know!  I love hearing which ones are people's favorites!!   (by the way, if any of the ones in the above picture catch your fancy, order before Feb 28th as they are being retired and on their way to becoming collectibles!)

Promotion promotion promotion......

I must say that trying to start a business requires a lot of hard work and dedication. There is no such thing as ...if you make it they will buy. So my mission is to get in gear and put myself out there. When your making a product you have to have faith in what your doing or no one else will have faith in you. There are always going to be people that will doubt you , but you should never let that get to you. We all have to start somewhere, and unfortunately that usually means the bottom.

I'm at the point where I'm comfortable with the jewelry i make. I feel i have much more to learn, but my chances of success are just as good as anyone else. Currently i have my items listed on artfire and ecrater. I just joined artfire so I'm not expecting anything miraculous over night. i know this requires patience. My experience with ecrater has been ...well i sold one item so far. I wasn't really promoting like i should have been and wasn't confident enough to push myself. So i cant really blame them. I'm sort of just learning the ropes of everything especially the marketing aspect of it all. You need to be included in all the major directories, and constantly socialize, and network with other people. I tend to be shy in that aspect but I'm learning to open up...for the sake of my business.

So whats a crafter to do. Sitting in my craft room with a bunch of jewelry in a plastic shoe containers(sigh)...any buyers out there?...lol I have so many beads in here i don't know where to start. Should I keep making more product if I'm not selling it? I mean I have people that buy from me personally but as far as the Internet aspect so far it's been a bust. But like i said I had some other things going on where i couldn't be totally committed to the business, but from this day forth its time to get it together.
