So I promised a blog with some updates on the house renovation/demolition/never-ending project... Of course, as usual, I am behind on updating my pictures, so these are not totally current...we are a little farther along now, but it will give you a little glimpse into our world of construction.
This was the day we closed on the house. Soon wanted to get straight to work! He's been working really hard on the house and I honestly don't know how he has all the energy to go to his daytime job early in the morning and then straight to the house to work on that. It's definitely a HUGE project that we're undertaking and it's definitely taken it's toll on all of us in different ways...I will be very happy when it's all over and we can resume some sort of normalcy.
The back of the house...it's a really nice size yard which will be great for Maddie to play in! Eventually we'll have the kitchen bump out and a wrap around deck....baby steps, right?
Some of the construction pictures...the house was really a MESS when we bought it, but remarkably we were both able to see the potential. Literally, everything had to come out and was trashed!
This is the last picture that we have uploaded. This was after the new windows were put in! Since then, the rooms have been prepared for dry wall, we're waiting for the siding to come in, the brick has been redone in the front, we're working on the plumbing, ordering toilets, picked out roofing...
The latest is we settled on a mailbox, LOL...it's the little things sometimes. But seriously, the mailbox needed to go with the style of the house, so we couldn't just get any mailbox.
I will definitely have more updates soon, as every day bring something new with the house! (sometimes good and sometimes bad...it's a roller coaster ride)

OhCanadaTeam Gift Guide: Mother's Day
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan
Now that I am a mother myself I can see what my mom meant all the times she uttered the phrase, "You'll understand when you have your own children". And I do. New Classes
I'm on a roll with the new classes! This month, we're debuting two new classes, Double Sidewinder and Kumihimo, in our Bead World stores. It's really exciting to be able to bring these cool new classes to the masses. Plus, it's moving me that much closer to the new book releases! This summer, we'll be releasing at least two new books. We may even make it three new books, if I can get my act in order! Beyond Basics: All Tied Up! will feature macrame, wire crochet and kumihimo weave. Seed Bead Basics will highlight, well, basic seed bead projects. (Duh, right?) And Chain Maille for Beginners will contain patterns for beginner level chain maille projects. Hey, at least you know what are books are about from the titles! Exact release dates will follow soon, and you can find class information on our website: http://www.beadworldinc.com/

Layering Pearls add pizazz to any outfit!
If you've been reading this blog, you know that Jewel Kade's specialty is in their hand-crafted charms which look absolutely phenomenal LAYERED. If you think you can't pull off that look, think again! It's the fabulous "layering pearls" to the rescue! Put this strand on, and you'll not only look like a million bucks, but you'll feel like a JK superstar who can layer like a veteran! :)
Here's some tips on how this necklace can be worn:
- wear it long with a knot at the bottom
- wrap it 2 times
- hey, wrap it 3 times!
- wrap it around your neck and pull it through like a lariat
- wrap it twice and tie a knot on the longer layer
- wrap it twice and pull one strand close to your neck like a choker
I know there's more where that came from--play with it and find out which way suits you!!! P.S. Don't forget today's the last day to get the Pearl Drop necklace for FREE (when you place an order of $125 or more through my website)--which, by the way looks fabulous with the layering pearls!!!
